I'm not even participating but I'm totally spent. Having two children in competitive team sports...traveling and majors, thank you very much...is serious work. I feel like the team bus driver most of the time, b's ok. Once it's game time, I flop in my beat up lawn chair, throw a leg over one arm and relaaaaax.
I used to bring my sewing to the games. But that was before my children became athletes. There's a difference between an athlete and a child that plays sports.
Take Dane, last year he and his team mates played ball. This year, they are ball players. All of them. Each unique in their style, but equally determined to take it home.
I mean seriously. When did this happen?
And this? When did this happen?
God help anyone that judges her by the package...
She has brothers, ya know. Two of them. She knows how to leave a mark.
Fortunately, the seasons are just getting started but I'm already trying to slow it down. I love these dog days. Sitting in a lawn chair, a full cuppa coffee, surrounded by my vocal family, watching my kids do the voodoo they do.
I may just have to skip the garden all together this year. Vegetables will keep but children surely won't.

I've stumbled into your yard, I'm afraid! Please excuse, or maybe let me observe a little longer! Amazed!
